September 2006 News
Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe it is already September! We here at Grace Uncharted enjoyed the month of August with our families. It is now back to business as usual. I hope this letter finds you all well and settled back into school.
The beginning of August marked the time for my Rotuxxin treatment. I checked into the hospital as usual only it turned out to be quite an event! I got hives, low blood pressure and my throat was starting to close. Afraid of my being thrown into anaphylactic shock one of my nurse friends, Hangama, stopped my IV until they could stabilize my symptoms. I ended up staying the night (UGH!) and being released the next day. I did, however, get my treatment!
Thank you all who supported our efforts to attend the Race to Replace. Unfortunately, due to the unexpected reaction to my treatment we were unable to attend the event. We will be watching for other events where Grace Uncharted can make our voice known.
It is with a heavy heart that I close this letter with a Goodbye
to my dear friend Pam Fairmont. She was a wonderful wife to Robert
and an awesome
mother
to Connor.
She fought a long and brave battle over the past several years. She left
us on July 31st. Good bye my sweet friend. You are dearly missed by me
and others.
Your infectious smile and positive attitude has left a mark on my soul
forever. Our “club” will miss you! We will see you in Heaven! Xoxo
Blessings!
